Naturalization Switzerland
Preparing for naturalization in the canton of Zurich
Are you applying for a Swiss passport? We prepare you for the interview with the naturalization commission and/or the knowledge test of your municipality.
For naturalization you need at least the following official language documents: A2 for writing, listening and reading, B1 for speaking. Depending on the municipality of residence, these requirements may be higher.
Please note! The SDS certificate will no longer be accepted as an official language document by the Swiss authorities from July 1, 2024.
The Swiss naturalization course
The lessons are individually adapted to your place of residence. We use the official materials from the federal government, the canton of Zurich and your municipality of residence.
10h Teaching the subject matter: 5 lessons of 120 minutes each: Information about Switzerland for the Confederation, canton and commune
6h Interview training: 4 private lessons of 90 minutes each: Preparation for the interview with the naturalization commission
Material: We use the official materials from the federal government, the canton and your municipality of residence. The materials are in German.
Prerequisite: At least B1 knowledge of German. The language of instruction is German.
Target group: The course is suitable for individuals, couples or families. We integrate individual information from the student’s community of residence into the course.
Important information about the Swiss naturalization course
We have developed a program for a 16 hour course.
In the first part we teach 5 x 2 hours of content on geography, history, language, democracy and federalism, social security and health, work and education. The topics are dealt with at federal, cantonal and municipal level.
In the second part, we simulate the interview with the naturalization commission for 4 x 90 minutes. In these interview training sessions, we practise asking questions about the canton and federal government, the personal situation and the specific municipality of residence.
Homework: The student must prepare for the lessons: Read texts in the books ECHO and Understanding Switzerland and learn some of the technical vocabulary.

Conditions
The school material is included in the price.
Travel expenses per lesson outside the city limits of Zurich cost: CHF 24.00 to 48.00.
Lessons that are not used can be transferred to other people.
Lessons can be cancelled up to 5pm the day before.
Monday lessons can be cancelled until 5pm on Friday.
Later cancellations will be charged.
Group courses must be cancelled by all participants collectively.
