Preparing for naturalization in the canton of Zurich
Are you applying for the Swiss passport?
We will prepare you for the interview with the naturalization committee and for the basic knowledge test required by your municipality.
For naturalization, you need at least the following official language certificates:
A2 for writing, listening, and reading; B1 for speaking.
Depending on your municipality of residence, these requirements may be higher.
How can I register for the basic knowledge test?
To register for the basic knowledge test, contact your local municipality. The municipality will inform you when and where you can take the test.
When can I take the basic knowledge test?
There are two options: Before you submit your naturalization application, or after you have submitted your naturalization application.
To register, you must meet the basic requirements for naturalization. Generally, this means having lived in Switzerland for 10 years and holding a valid C permit.

Our Swiss naturalization course
We have developed a program for a 16 hour course. to help you successfully complete your naturalization. Our naturalization course prepares you efficiently for the discussion of your naturalization application.
In the first part, we teach 5 x 2 h of content on geography, history, language, democracy and federalism, social security and health, work and education. The topics are dealt with at federal, cantonal and municipal level. The lessons are individually adapted to your commune of residence.
In the second part, we simulate the interview with the naturalization commission for 4 x 1.5 h. In these interview training sessions, we practise asking questions about the canton and federal government, the personal situation and the specific municipality of residence.

10h Teaching the subject matter: 5 lessons of 120 minutes each: Information about Switzerland for the Confederation, canton and commune
6h Interview training: 4 private lessons of 90 minutes each: Preparation for the interview with the naturalization commission
Material: We use the official materials from the federal government, the canton and your municipality of residence. The materials are in German.
Prerequisite: At least B1 knowledge of German. The language of instruction is German.
Target group: The course is suitable for individuals, couples or families. We integrate individual information from the student’s community of residence into the course.
Homework: The student must prepare for the lessons: Read texts in the books ECHO and Die Schweiz verstehen and learn some of the technical vocabulary.
Conditions
The school material for the naturalization course is included in the price. The school material for the private lessons is not included in the price.
Travel expenses per lesson outside the city limits of Zurich cost: CHF 24.00 to 48.00.
Lessons that are not used can be transferred to other people.
Lessons can be cancelled up to 5pm the day before.
Monday lessons can be cancelled until 5pm on Friday.
Later cancellations will be charged.
Group courses must be cancelled by all participants collectively.

You can also book individual lessons to prepare for the discussion of your naturalization application or the basic knowledge test. Choose the number and content of your lessons yourself:
